September 14, 2008

Holy Cow! What a ride! We outdid ourselves from the last ride. We were gone for about 13 hours and covered MANY miles of mountain country. We had a campout the night before. Kenny drove up in the car with the kids and we all slept in the horse trailer.Christy and Shane came and slept in their trailer. We got up in the morning and had a great breakfast. Then Kenny took the kids home and the four of us when on the ride.

Hike Behind the Draper Temple

September 11, 2008

Today is one of those days that always brings a little sadness. I remember exactly where I was when I saw the news at almost 7am that the plane had hit the first tower in NY. I was on the couch with my almost 1 month old daughter Emily, she had been fussy all night and I ended up on the couch with her watching TV to pass the time. Now 7 years later it still comes back like it was yesterday. I decided we needed to get outside and breath some fresh air.
They are still working on the Draper Temple so we went up to check out the progress. I found a hiking trail just to the south of the temple so we went for a hike. It was perfect weather and so much fun! Nice way to spend a few hours on a day in history that changed out world

Emily Get's Her Ears Pierced for her Seventh Birthday!

September 8, 2008

WOOHOO! Emily is so brave! She has been bugging me for months to get her ears pierced. I kept telling her I thought she was too little... she was insistant! I told her that I was 12 when I got my ears pierced and explained to her that I went with my mom three times to get them done and chickened out everytime so she made all of my sisters and I wait until we were 12 to get them done.
There were two other girls named Emily there to get their ears pierced too. Thought that was such a fun coincidence. She was all smiles and first and then after it was done there were a few tears but it didnt take too long for the smile to return through the tears. She picked gold flower studs with pink crystals on the petals and a diamond in the center. I think they look very pretty. Em was really happy with them too.

Stinky Shoe Horse Ride with Dad, Christy Me and Shane

September 6, 2008

After the state show in Fillmore, Christy and Shane and Dad and I drove up Salina Canyon and slept over night the horse trailers. We got up at the crack of dawn and went on a 10 hour horse ride! I took so many beautiful pictures and had a hard time just picking a few so I didnt :) We had such an amazing ride! My dad told us a bunch of old hunting stories and even found the rack of an Elk from years before and he told us the story about how it came to die there. I wish more rides like this one happened. After we got back to the trailer, we fed the horses and I cooked us some dinner on my dad's camp stove. Our behinds were mighty sore!
